In Salesforce CPQ, there are MANY objects that have a field called: order, number, evaluation order, index, display order, sort order, etc.
For ALL of these fields, this is my Classic CPQ numbering scheme: 10, 20, 30, 40, etc. That way if you have to insert something, you don’t have to re-number ALL of them.
You’re welcome.
I have a little additional tip I use for organization of Features and Options.
For Product Features, I follow the usual 10, 20, 30 … scheme.
But in my Product Options, my numbering scheme is X010, X020, X030 … where X0 = the corresponding Feature’s number. Not terribly useful but it keeps some organization to things.
This is a great tip. I tend to do something similar but not as organized as this! I’ll be adopting this. Thanks for the comment!
